The Mean Angel: part 1

The wind rustled the leafs of the trees and the birds sang their morning songs as Sarah set out for school. The first day of fall and already the weather was chilly. She pulled her jacket's hood over her head and walked down the driveway where her mom was waiting in the car to take her to school. She climbed in and they rumbled down the street, heading towards Bollnar Elementary school. The rocking of the car relaxed Sarah, and soon they parked outside the school. But Sarah stiffened when she saw Robert. Everybody knew him, and disliked him, except the grown-ups. They thought he was an angel. Robert was holding something in his arms, and he was smiling at it. Then he saw Sarah looking at him. She ducked, and held her breath. If he sees me staring at him, he'll give me trouble. She reminded herself. "Sarah, it's time to go." Her mother said. "Class is starting in five minutes." Sarah peeked to see if Robert was there. But he was gone. She slipped out of the car and went to her room like a mouse, looking left and right and jumping at every movement. Finely she arrived, only to find her cautiousness in vain. Robert was there showing everyone what he had been holding in his arms. Sarah couldn't believe her eyes. Robert was holding a rabbit!
